Bipoler Disorder

This is a little off the subject but it's something I would like to address. I have a family member who is bipoler. I have mentioned to her that she has a problem and her anwer was "I know". I also told her there was drugs she could take and she said "I know". I suggested she go see her doctor and get a prescription and she said "no, I'm happy the way I am". I've mentioned this when she was "ok" and when she was depressive but to no avail. How do you help someone who doesn't want to be helped?
